Alchemy Art + Life Class

Before I leaned into my creativity, I thought I wasn’t creative enough to be an artist. I went to art school but studied art history which I still love, but fear held me back and the belief that I just wasn’t creative enough to be an artist. I wish I had known the more you create, the more creative you are. The more you show up to create the more the muse shows up with you. So sitting down and just letting myself go with no plan in place was daunting. How would I know what to paint? What if this freedom produces something ugly, meaningless, and shallow? But that is the inner critic raging inside my head again. In order to do the work you have to realize the lies your brain is telling you and lean into the positive stories. Believe in yourself, let the critic go, and just try to immerse yourself in the moment. The goal is to reach creative flow. That divine, mystical place where you are truly happy and at peace. Where your heart swells like you are in love for the first time because you are in love with this very moment.

And look at me now. I am brave enough to put this class out into the world in the hopes this will help you with your development In creativity and life. I am also putting my art and soul out there daily on instagram in personal and emotional ways. My art is in gallery shows and it is selling. Whatever you have a burning passion to do, I hope this art and life class will help you along that path. I wish I had know these teachings ten years ago. That is why I want to help others so they can avoid the pain and struggle of having to figure all this out on their own.

In this class we will create an abstract painting to alchemize our inner critic thoughts into beauty.

You will receive an email with a digital class when you purchase this offering for $55.

What You Need to Know:

I will be using primary colors of oil paint in red, blue, and white. But you can chose whatever colors speak to you. I would at least buy the primaries: red, blue, yellow, white, black and tack on green for ease. I use the brand Academy but it is inherited paint so you can choose your own brand. Liquitix is pretty watery so maybe not that. You will also need a canvas in any size really. I use an 8x10’’ for this class. It feels big enough to matter but small enough to take on during one class and not daunting in enormity. Pick any brushes you like but make sure they fit the size of the painting and don’t buy a fan brush because its pretty. If using oil paint you will also need something to clean the brushes with like turpentine or gambol. You will also need a palette to squeeze out your paint and mix colors on.
If you like using acrylic or watercolors those will work as well. But if you are brand new to making art (which this class is friendly to) you might want to follow me. The class is meant to teach you to tap into your intuition and learn to follow it. So each painting should and will be different because it is an expression of your inner emotions.
